Music Monday: Project 86 – “Fall, Goliath, Fall”

Hold on to your hats everyone! I’m so excited about this Music Monday song!! The band is Project 86 and the song is “Fall, Goliath, Fall“. P86 holds a special place in my heart. They’re most definitely one of the first bands that got me hooked on hard rock which fueled my desire for metal. Their songs are so powerful and spoke to me as a kid and carried me through my crazy teen years and on into adulthood. I love the music and I must confess, they’re also most likely responsible for partial hearing loss of the years. I can’t help but crank it up when I hear the music.

“Fall, Goliath, Fall” is off their most recent album Wait for the Siren which came out in 2013. This song, in particular, spoke to me. We are all waging war, be it spiritual, physical, emotional, every day. The strength we find in putting on the armor of God is the best weapon we have in conquering all areas of our life. This song is a battle cry to those who are weary and downtrodden to pick up your “sword” and with Him guiding your path, defeat your giant.

So will you answer the call?!

“Fall, Goliath, Fall” Lyrics

Take up arms, all you fallen oppressed
This is insurrection rising, mobilizing defense
It’s time, my brothers, beat your shovels to swords
It’s time, my friends, sound the siren for war!

Can you smell it the air my brethren?
It ‘s the beautiful stench of reinvention
Sharpen your axes, resurrect your hatchets
As we raise our chalices to fallen combatants
It’s time, my brothers, earn your stripes and your lashes
It’s time, my friends, light your hearts into action

With our backs to the wall
We’ll respond to the call
Fall, Goliath, fall, fall goliath
Lift the head of the giant
To celebrate our defiance
Fall Goliath, fall, fall goliath

Unite
Hold the line and
Strike
Raise your Claymores high
We fight
For a reason to die

The ghosts of our fathers beat drums by our sides
The trophies of the day: scalps and hides
We fight, not for the hate of a tyrant
We fight, because of love for what is behind us.
